maintenance cost
This is the page with maintenance history.
I made this list based upon the documentation (bills mainly) that came with the car. And I add the cost that I have since I own the car. At the bottom of the page you can see the graph showing the mileage (kilometers) over the years. Between 1970 and 1979 there is no cost history, but I do have regular service records with mileage information. The car has not been used much between 1993 and 1999 (see the graph). According to this data it costs about Eur 1140,- per year to maintain this car ($1250).
Fuel consumption is around 5 kilometers per litre (about 14 miles per US gallon), and with fuel prices at Eur 1.4 / litre (Netherlands Unleaded 95, all Rolls Royce's can use unleaded fuel without any conversion or additive) combined with 10,000 kilometers per year that adds up to Eur 2800 ($ 3,300) per year. All risk insurance is about Eur 174 per year (that's a good deal), and the car is older than 25 years , so no road taxes.
So, it costs around Euro 3,500-4,500/ year ($4,000-5,000) to drive a Silver Shadow.
